Happy Labor Day Monday!

Is it Monday already? No it isn't it Sunday but I am getting a head start on things this week. Why? Because I can for a change, the girls are gone this weekend so I am catching up on lots of things. Like balancing my checkbook and cleaning my room. You know that stuff you put off because it is no fun but needs to be done. Yeah thats me. :) But that also means I have have more time on the weekend to do things I do like to do, like posting my Mv post!

Last week (someone)scolded me for saying I needed a break from the scale. But I didn't clarify that very well. I just have been putting too much stress on the numbers and have started letting it control how I feel about my day. I don't want the number to define me or control me. I know there will be ups and downs so I am going to only weigh in every couple of weeks or so, unless I start seeing the numbers go up too much. I feel like I am starting to get a good handle on what it takes to get my numbers to go down so I am trying to get away from the scale. I have been bad about peeking through the week an letting it get me down when I don't see what I like. I hope that makes sense.

I have a feeling my numbers are going to be off for the next few weeks. Some of you have seen my tweets about going to see the lawyer and stuff, that is to finalize my divorce. So I am a bit stressed and nervous about this. On one hand I am glad to be getting it over with but at the same time I am sad to have to deal with it. Some of my local friends have been here to help cheer me up and keep me busy during this stressful time and I appreciate them immensely. I also appreciate all the love my m sista's have shown me the last few days as well. Your virtual hugs are felt.

I took my stress out at the gym the other day and man have I felt it ever since. I must not have stretched well before or after and my calves and ankles have been SOOO SORE. so take that as a warning. Don't workout when you are stressed unless you stretch REALLY well. LOL But I did some running on the treadmill and didn't feel any shin pain, that was a plus.

I want to thank @ChefsRequested for sponsoring this weeks blogging carnival. I keep hoping my Walmart will start carrying these steaks, so until they do I am sans Chef's Requested. BUT I do follow them on facebook and if you do too you know this weekend they are running a promo that if you post a pic of you and a Chef's requested steak you get some for free. Besure to post your pics!

Congrats to Greta for being Sista of the week. She is a great motivator and truly deserving of the title!

I hope you all have a really great week. And if you think about it say a little prayer for peace for me on Tuesday. We sign papers that day.

Find your balance as best as you can during this stressful time Julie. I support straying from the scale a bit if it is becoming a controlling relationship, just don't stray from healthy habits.

I also feel you on the being careful when working out to combat stress. Towards the end of my pregnancy my dad got really sick and the day I found out I taught a yoga class then went for a long power walk after to clear my head. I was feeling it in my pelvis and legs for quite a few days later. You don't think when other stuff is on your mind.

I am glad you have IRL friends there to support you during this time. Best wishes, I hope your ordeal is over with the legal mumbo jumbo part of this process soon! HUGS xoxo

Hang in there - so sorry to hear about your divorce but as you say now you can move on.

I have a love/hate relationship with the scale too, and I have found some comfort in taking my measurements instead. Maybe you can try that so you don't feel like it's a ball and chain. HA! :)

Hugs to you and have a good week.

OH sweetie - sounds so sad and stressful. Well, duh, it would be, Greta. Just talking to myself here on your post!

Seriously though, you're doing great considering and I don't think Leah was scolding you at all, just trying to help you out as she's been there before. It sounds like you weren't weighing in once a week but maybe every day? So you feel you need to stop entirely or keep it to every couple of weeks so that you're restricting yourself? Most weight loss plans, nutritionists, etc will say definitely no to weighing every day. especially for women there are just too many variables.

So I say go for the twice a month if you can. It might take longer to adjust things, but if it helps you mentally, then that's important.

You need to be doing some meditation, yoga or just some conscious breathing right now above all else. Some cardio doesn't hurt with stress either! Do you have access to yoga classes?

Hang in there, lady. This too shall pass!!!

I got the feeling Leah was talking to me about straying from the scale as well but, she wasn't scolding us. She was just making sure we don't stray from healthy habits. The scale has kind of keept us accountable for our healthy habits.

When you are getting stressed just remember to take some time out and breath.

Hang in there your doing great girl!

I know what u mean.. I am considering taking a break from the scale atleast till next week.. I am HIDING it so I don't get tempted because I too get down when it doesn't say what I want it too. It definitely can become a negative tool in weight loss strategy and can cause stress which then causes weight gain..Sorry to hear about your divorce and all the stress. prayers for ya girl!

HUGS HUGS HUGS!!

I have no idea what you are going through (with stress) but I do know that everytime someone stresses on the BL they gain weight - or do not lose. Jillian and Bob always say to NOT stress out! :P

Praying that your weeek goes smoothly and your stress levels decrease after all this is said and done!

**My challenge for YOU this week: Move MORE than you already ARE! :)

this is just me, but the scale can be tricky. Honesty... i dont even own one! I go off measurements, how clothes fit, and how I feel. Stay motivated and focused and you will see changes! Keep it up.

You may have an addiction, but this time it's the scale. If you are peeking during the week, take a break! Don't let some little box control you. This should simply be a weekly task that you do and don't stress about.

I hope your divorce stuff is over soon. I used to work in a lawyer's office years ago for a school internship. I have seen how stressed, however, I can't say I know how you feel. Just hold your head up and focus on the end and your goals.

I'll tell you a small secret to how I combat stress: if I can get someone to watch my son for a few hours, I find the nearest gun range. Seriously - it works! If I can't find someone around, I workout, but something low impact such as yoga or pilates. Not weight training or running! (Now those reading this probably think I'm absolutely insane now) haha

Have a great week and keep your head up!

big hugs Julie.

Take the time to find the balance. I know you are going through a lot right now. Take a deep breathe and concentrate on you. You can do this.

Lots of hugs for you, Julie! Yes, definitely take your stress out at the gym, but yes, be careful to stretch! I know this time is stressful, but you have the understanding of how your body is working, so use that to your advantage! Hang in there! You're doing great!

I didn't realize you were going through a divorce darling. I'm so sorry. Yeah, just beat that stress out of yourself at the gym. That is what I do when I'm dying from life's troubles. It's the healthiest way to take care of it. Better than drinking or overeating or whatever else we can do. You have my thoughts and prayers for your family. XXOO

It's definitely a difficult transition (at least it was for me) and it seems that the focus is on the unimportant things instead of what should really matter. Keep you head held high and know that prayers will be sent your way Tuesday and beyond.

*hugs*

Happy Monday to you too!

Balance is an interesting word, I prefer rhythm. And I hope you find it this week to do whatever it is you need to do!

I'm am also glad you have a good support system to help you through this stressful time.

Best wishes to you and your family this week!

Hugs, Julie -- Do what you need to the next few weeks to help bring your stress level down; if that means you need to not focus on the scale for a little bit, that's fine. You're right -- we shouldn't let the numbers on the scale define our entire mood for the day. (I have that same issue and check my weight DAILY)

Thinking about you -- please let me know how we can help you this week.
